DSP Researcher Scientist, Senior Research Scientist

About the Role:

DCY is seeking a DSP Researcher Scientist. DCY is the corporate research division that focuses on advanced technology development for applications across all DCY product lines including Automotive, Lifestyle (consumer), and Professional. You will work with an advanced real-time data collection platform in lab simulators and in vehicles which involves acquiring images, videos, ECG, EEG and other Biosignals to support the Machine Learning for our next generation driver monitoring systems.


The DSP Research Scientist is a role of great impact and significance. The individual is expected to be subject matter expert and who is expected to take on leadership roles in driving the research in driver and occupant monitoring systems. The successful candidate will work with a broader team of scientists, and engineers while taking ownership to drive projects to defined conclusions.

 

This position will be located in Yerevan, Armenia, where the successful candidate will have access to world class tools and facilities.

What You Need:

  • 10+ in research industry
  • Minimum of Master’s degree in computer Science, mathematics, statistics or related discipline: physics, computer science, electrical engineering etc. plus five years of relevant industry experience. or PhD with 2 years’ experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in one or more of the following: digital signal processing, physics, computer vision, biosignals, radar and sensor technologies, radiophysics
  • Knowledge of the main methods of signal processing: time analysis, spectral analysis, non-linear analysis, information theory
  • Understanding the physics of processes: image formation, color formation, voltage and potential formation, sensing physics, radar, sound
  • Designed and evaluated approaches for handling high-volume real-time data streams
  • A strong technical advocate with a background in Python
  • Passionate about working with large unstructured and structured data sets (i.e. multi-terabyte+).
  • Comfortable conducting design and code reviews
  • GitHub, Jira
  • At least 10 publications on signal processing or related topics
  • Experience in solving complex scientific and technical problems related to setting up experiments, theoretical research, modeling, solving direct and inverse problems of physics
  • Theoretical and practical understanding of data science and Artificial Intelligence
  • Experience in data statistics focusing on machine learning algorithms, digital signal processing and sensors.
  • Extreme curiosity and intellectual honesty
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Technology network in sensor, software/algorithmic start-ups, and academia
  • Excellent people skills and the ability to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders from students to experienced engineers up to senior management
  • Self-motivated, result driven individual, must be passionate about the work
  • Demonstrate high levels of technical expertise, ingenuity, and creativity. You will be required to develop and apply advanced technologies, engineering principles, theories, and concepts, and have broad knowledge about the design and operation of systems outside of your specialty.

What is Nice to Have:

  • Experience in data collection for driver monitoring systems.
  • Experience working on research in a commercial environment.
  • Experience with machine learning techniques and some familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch or similar.
